Bedford Quebec Canada

Bedford lies in Monteregie of Quebec in Canada. It is close to Montreal and Burlington. It has Quebec’s biggest Boy Scout group. It is 53 miles form Montreal and is encased in the Saint-Lawrence lowlands. The Appalachian Mountains are also close to Bedford. The Pike River is one of its main attractions. The annual fair of Bedford has been held every year since 1828. It has sports such as Hockey, Figure Skating and Curling-also known as chess on ice played with granite stones. The first settlers of Bedford were there in 1812. The name was given to the city by American colony loyalists, who named the colony after the fourth Duke of Bedford, Lord John Russell, an English politician and Secretary of State. Bedford is part of the Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality. The township had a population of 736 in 2006.
