DiamondBack Topanga Suspension Mountain Bike Review

DiamondBack Topanga bikes are a good deal for the price. Most retail for $300 to $600 a piece. The trouble with this bike is that the top seat comes loose after a hit, accident or collision. It also makes an incredibly high and loud grinding/squeak noise. This can be fit with some Allen Wrench torque. The suspension fork has a problem with being adjusted and not being good enough for some hard riding action. The screw adjusters at the top of the fork are difficult to turn with your bare fingers. Try using pliers instead. But this sort of gear works well for beginners, who do not need much tweaking to get along. The pedals are also not lasting and might come off after a good bashing. The good thing about these bikes is that the tires can withstand any terrain and do not start wearing off like other bikes. It has a great drive train too. The chains do not get affected easily inspite of a lot of dirt clinging to them. The rims are solid too. They do not break or crack even if you drop them down, hit them or throw heavy or sharp things at them. This bike is ideal for anyone who does fast downhill’s and long climbs. It has a lot of suspension. This bike is ideal for people riding to work, to commute, working out and for mountain trails. A single bike for both the city and the mountains. It has a Deore front and back. The Magnum fork is a luxury and it’s a big upgrade from the 2000 model. This bike works well on climbs and also on descents. This bike has a front suspension. The frame is TIG-welded. The tubing is 7005 aluminium. The fork brand is Answer Manitou Magnum R 3.0 travel. The fork material is of aluminium/Magnesium triple clamp down and the component group is Mountain Mix.

The DiamondBack Topanga combines hard trail performance with rugged utility. It has hubs of aluminium in the front and Shimano HB-M510 in the rear. The rims are Alex AL-DM18, 32-hole. The tires are 26x2.10” WTB VelociRaptor. The spoke brand is stainless steel, 14 ga (2.0 mm) straight gauges. The brakeset is Tektro linear pull-brakes and Tektro linear-pull levers. The pedals are Resin /aluminium cage w/clips & straps. The rear cogs are 9 speed, 11-32 teeth. The chain is KMC Z9000, ½ x 3/32”. The seat post is Aluminium micro-adjust, 27.2 mm diameter.
