Review of the Album: The Blueprint2: The Gift & the Curse by Jay-Z

The Blueprint 2 is Jay-Z’s seventh studio album. It was released in 2002 and is listed under the hip-hop genre. Some parts of the album were re-issued in 2003 in the next sequel, “The Blueprint 2.1”. 545,000 units of this album were sold in the first week of its release and it stood on #1 on the pop charts. The album was significant by the number of guest appearances by other artists on it. The first disc is called “The Gift”. It has upbeat party tracks. The hit singles “03 Bonnie & Clyde” and “Excuse Me Miss” is part of them. The second disc is known as “The Curse”. It is more negative in tone and has no guest appearances by other artists.

This album has 25 tracks in all. The tracks are “A Dream”, “Hovi Baby”, “The Watcher 2”, “'03 Bonnie & Clyde”, “Excuse Me Miss”, “What They Gonna Do”, “All Around The World”, “Poppin' Tags”, “Fuck All Nite”, “The Bounce”, “I Did It My Way”, “Diamond Is Forever”, “Guns & Roses”, “U Don't Know (Remix)”, “Meet The Parents”, “Some How Some Way”, “Some People Hate”, “Blueprint²”, “Nigga Please”, “2 Many Hoes”, “As One”, “A Ballad For The Fallen Soldier”, “Show You How”, “Bitches & Sisters” and “What They Gonna Do Part II”. It is listed under the hip-hop category. People who enjoyed the "The Blueprint" album had waited with anticipation for this album too. The track “A Dream” is a rip-off of “juicy” by Big. “The Watcher 2” has Dr.Dre, Truth Hurts and Rakim. Sean Paul is responsible for the up-tempo song “What We Gonna Do?”.
